Start with the complete system.
Record the laser source or main system model, manufacturer and serial where available. Give the system an identifier and use it for related controllers, power supplies, cooling, motion stages and beam-delivery parts. Photograph loose accessories with their labels rather than assuming they belong to any nearby system.
Use confirmed specifications.
Include wavelength, output specification, operating mode and configuration only when supported by a readable label or existing record. Identify the controller, software and connected computer. Leave unknown details open. A model-family name alone can hide meaningful configuration differences.
Photograph condition without operating the equipment.
Record known faults, missing parts, storage history and last known use. Do not energize a laser, bypass an interlock or open energized equipment merely to prepare a sale enquiry. Untested and incomplete assets can be considered within the accepted category.
Describe optical and motion assets separately.
List tables, benches, optics, lenses, holders, detectors and motion stages with quantities and known condition. Note visible contamination or damage without attempting cleaning or adjustment for the sale. Keep matched assemblies identifiable and state what is excluded.
Add dimensions and site access.
Tables, benches and packaged systems can have different handling needs from loose optics. Provide dimensions, approximate weight, access and loading details. Dedicated cooling associated with a laser system may be reviewed; stand-alone general laboratory chillers are outside our general laboratory buying scope.
Label matched components before they are separated
Use a system ID on the inventory and photographs for the source, controller, power supply, cooling and motion hardware. Note missing cables or accessories. “Included with system A” is more useful than an unrelated box of unidentified components. Use visible labels and existing records; no new laser operation is needed to submit an enquiry.
Send a useful starting package.
A model list, clear photos, quantity, known condition, city or ZIP and timeline can start the discussion. Discuss NDA requirements before sharing restricted information. Final acceptance and purchase price follow the actual equipment review.
